About me and this wonderful site
The internet has undoubtedly changed how business is done today, and real estate is no exception. This business has become more confusing and complicated; not rocket-science-complicated, but more like trying-to-control-all-your-digital-devices-with-one-controller-complicated. If you know what I mean. And the truth is that the internet contributes to information overload and the occasional headache. Information is good, too much becomes counter productive and ineffective. I hope people use this site to gain some sanity and try to put all the real estate mumbo-jumbo information into something that makes sense–as it relates to Westchester County and its municipalities.
Everyone needs an outlet. And when my kids are not around this website serves that purpose for me. As much as I would like to meet everyone in Westchester County and talk about real estate, I realize it’s just not possible. This site serves as my posting and sounding-off board for all things real estate. I write about the real estate business, current real estate events, local real estate statistics and other topics that may impact the local market–aka-our blog. If our interpretation of the market and industry experiences could help you, great, otherwise we hope you find it entertaining.
WestchesterCribs.com, What?
Where did you come up with this name: WestchesterCribs.com? It wasn’t easy! Let me tell you. Basically, I wanted a name that in case I didn’t have a business card on me, it could easily be remembered. It is definitely more memorable than JaimeTineo.com , or WestchesterCountyForSale.com, or the 50+ domain names that can lead you to my site.
Chester–named after the town in England.
West–location of town in relation to name sake in England.
Cribs–word introduced in 2000 on MTV as an alternative to the word “house” or “home”.
.Com– top level domain on the world wide web.

The problem with real estate industry
Most people have a hard time trusting real estate agents. On the professional ladder we sit right above used car salesmen and right below ambulance chasing lawyers. And you know what, it’s probably with good reason. You as the customer may only have to work with one or two agents–and you’re lucky, I have to deal with all 7,500 of them.
Real estate agents are infamous for not telling their customers everything. They’re known for ‘keeping secrets’ from their customers. They only give you enough to get you on the hook. They give you the price, but not the adress. Why? I don’t know and I just don’t get it. Being a real estate agent is about providing a service. If the customer wants the adress, give them the adress, if the customer wants to know what the house sold for 3 years ago, find out what the house sold for 3 years ago. If the customer wants statistical data for a certain neighborhood…then give it to them. It can’t get any simpler than that.
I’m about empowering the customer. Give them the tools and support they need to get where they want to go.
Like any other industry, there will be a rotten few that ruin it for the rest of the lot. It’s inevitable. Conversely there are a number of us that are in it for the right reasons; to help people. The money is just a bi-product of doing a good job. I believe that there are ways to make money while serving the people. Success is measured by the number of people you serve.
I chose to break the mold and refute the idea “all real estate agents are the same.”
How I chose to do business
“You reap what you sow.”
“Do onto others as you would want done onto you”.
“What goes around comes around”.
“Karma!”
Honesty and integrity is good for business. There is just no other way. I realize it’s a revolutionary concept, but we actually do what we say and say what we do. Simple and uncomplicated, we communicate and keep our clients and customers informed about everything we do. And yes, like every other business entity, we’re here to make money. We’re people with dreams and goals too. However, we will not mortgage our future and livelihood by taking advantage of you. We value our customers and value their goals and dreams as well. We’re not a factory, turning customers like automobiles in an assembly line. Not everyone is same. We tailor our services to each client’s needs. We treat client how we would expect to be treated. We have HIGH expectations of ourselves, and we hope to surpass yours at every turn.
What I believe in
- I believe in accountability. If we’re not performing to your expectations, then simply say Trump’s 2 magic words “You’re Fired!”. It’s that simple. No strings attached!
- I believe we can out-work anyone in the real estate business.
- I believe we have better grasp of the technology that’s important to you.
- I believe our marketing is superior to the competition.
- I believe that open houses won’t help sell YOUR house.
- I believe that you deserve more than just ‘traditional’ real estate services.
- I believe that clear and honest communication is the key to any successful relationship.
- I work for you, not the other way around.

Site Policy
This policy is subject to change at my convenience.
This blog is a personal blog conceived, written and edited by me. For comments/suggestions/questions about this blog, please contact me, Jaime Tineo (contact info is spread out all over the place). I occasionally have thoughts and opinions that I post and write about and they are mine and mine alone. When I present data, it is believed to be accurate, but is not guaranteed. You should never make financial or real estate decisions based on anything you read on the internet, that includes my site or anyone else’s, without first consulting your financial adviser, CPA, attorney and/or real estate professional.
This site was built for simplicity’s sake. My goal was to make it easy to navigate and straight to the point. I built it the way I would want it designed if we were looking for information on the Westchester County’s local real estate market. That’s it. There’s no infomercials on what we’re going to do for you, or that we’ll sell your house in 3 days or that we’ll buy it if we can’t sell it. (because really, do you actually think that’s true?)
